U.S - Saudi Arabia on $60 Billion Weapon Deal

Obama administration will immediately notify the Congress of the proposed sale of fighter jets and military helicopters to Ryadh.
Senior U.S. official said the U.S. and Saudi Arabia to arrange a deal nearly completed a massive arms sales, valued at up to 60 billion dollars, and are discussing the increase of naval and missile defense that could be worth tens of billions of dollars more.

The official, who did not want to be named, said Monday that Obama's government will soon notify Congress of plans to offer a sophisticated fighter jets and military helicopters to Ryadh.

Daily Wall Street Journal, which first reported this agreement Sunday, said this plan has been prepared for months and is the largest U.S. arms sales. This sale is part of a policy aimed at supporting Arab allies from the threat of Iran.

Officials say that in a notice to Congress, which is expected to be received within one or two weeks, Americans will give authorization to Saudi Arabia to buy up as many as 84 fighter aircraft F 15 new and perfect 70 again as part of this sales package. They also said the agreement also includes purchase of three types of helicopters, 70 Apaches, 72 Black Hawks and Little Birds 36. This notice will be followed up with a review by Congress.

UN Accused Iran Complicating Nuclear Inspection

IAEA head Yukiya Amano said Iran prohibits two UN nuclear inspectors into the country.
UN nuclear echelons have been warned that he could not verify whether all Iranian nuclear activities is peaceful because Tehran does not cooperate fully with the agency he leads.

Head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Yukiya Amano spoke Monday after Iran banned two experienced nuclear inspectors into the country. He said Iran's refusal repeatedly hinder the inspection process.

America and its allies suspect Iran's nuclear program to make use of weapons development. Tehran says its program is for peaceful purposes, namely generating electrical energy, and accused the inspectors issuing false information.

Amano said in an IAEA meeting in Vienna, that he had confidence that the inspekturnya completely impartial.

Last IAEA report said Iran continues to enrich uranium and do dissent against UNSC resolution. Speaking in New York Monday, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon called the report as a "source of concern." Ban called for Iran's full cooperation with the agency to resolve all issues related to its nuclear program.

Lawyer Sarah Shourd, a U.S. citizen who was arrested Iran, asked that bail was abolished or reduced.Family of pedestrian-American women who were jailed in Iran for more than a year asked the Iranian authorities to lower the bail requirement is worth 500 thousand dollars to release him.

Lawyers for Sarah Shourd said Monday that the Swiss diplomats, who handles U.S. interests in Iran, asked that bail was abolished or reduced.

Iran announced Sunday that Shourd likely will be freed for medical reasons, but still will face justice. Family Shourd said he needed medical treatment for a lump in the chest and cervical cells pre-cancerous.

Iranian authorities arrested Shourd and two other Americans, Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal, in July last year after saying they crossed into Iranian territory from northern Iraq.

Pedestrians are then subject to allegations of spy work and go illegally, though they insisted they were not spies and crossed the border inadvertently.
